I read on CNet that when Microsoft launch Windows 7, they may actually also offer it on a USB stick as an alternativ to a DVD. Supposedly the reason for this is to help the many netbooks owners who do not have a DVD drive installed and this solution would be more convenient when upgrading Windows.
Of casue if you have an external DVD drive, upgrading will not be a problem.
